The SEG Research Committee provides expert information, advice and recommendations to SEG about matters of strategy, operational policy and management in areas such as: research governance, ethics, quality assessment and assurance; research infrastructure and the allocation of block funding for research; research grant applications and management; contract and consultancy research and research collaboration with third parties; research staffing matters including professional development; research data collections and reporting; research commercialisation and translation; research accessibility, advocacy, communication & promotion.
Membership of the Committee comprises the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) as Chair, a representative of the Academic Board, and typically the Associate Dean (Research) or equivalent from each of the University’s 16 faculties.
