Introduction
The Seymour Centre is committed to protecting your personal details securely and sensitively in accordance with NSW Privacy Laws. This Customer Privacy Statement outlines how we use and disclose of your personal information and the privacy rights you have in relation to that information.
Your personal information
Personal information we may collect, or which may be held about you, may include:
- Title
- Name
- Gender
- Postal address
- Telephone and mobile number
- Email address
- Details of events attended at the Seymour Centre
How we collect your personal information
We collect personal information in a number of ways including;
- when you purchase tickets to events at the Seymour Centre, either via our Box Office (phone and counter sales) or through our website (www.semourcentre.com);
- when you subscribe to our enewsletters and mailing lists;
- when you make a donation to us;
- when you apply for a membership;
- from third parties selling tickets on our behalf, or on behalf of people staging events at our venues.
How we use your personal information
We use your personal information to:
- enable you to purchase tickets and merchandise, including where applicable, to process your credit card payment transactions;
- allocate and mail your ticket(s) to your nominated postal address
- contact you if we have difficulty with your transaction;
- contact you with details of any changes or cancellations to the event you have purchased tickets for;
- enable you to make donations or apply for membership with us, and to contact you regarding those donations and memberships
- to keep you informed of future events at the Seymour Centre.
How we disclose your personal information
When you book a ticket, apply for a membership, donate or give information to the Seymour Centre the personal information you provide will be entered into a database.
Our database is a customer relationship management system which is shared with other arts organisations for the purpose of ticketing and customer relationship management. These organisations are able to view your name and contact details (address, email and phone numbers) when those details are given to the Seymour Centre and entered in the database. This is so that Seymour Centre can process your current and future transactions as effectively as possible, and also helps ensure the speed and efficiency of any of your dealings with the other organisations. However, the organisations do not have access to any other data we store about you, such as ticket history, ticketing preferences, donations or financial information.
When you book ticket(s), make a donation to the Seymour Centre or otherwise provide us with your personal information, you consent to your name and contact details, which are entered into the database, being disclosed to these organisations.
The current organisations are the Sydney Opera House, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Bell Shakespeare Company and Opera Australia. Other similar arts entities may become organisations in future, and they will also be able to view your name and contact details in the database.
Unless you tell us otherwise you consent to your name and contact details being shared with the organisations, although these organisations cannot contact you unless you have a pre-existing relationship with them (eg. you are a customer of or donor to those organisations, or have otherwise requested that they contact you). Any contact you have with these organisations will be subject to their privacy policies.
When you purchase a ticket(s) to an event at the Seymour you will be asked at the time of the transaction whether you wish to receive future communication from the presenter of the show (for non Seymour Centre events). If you agree to receive information from the presenting organisation, they will then use that information in accordance with their own privacy policy. In these circumstances the Seymour Centre will not be responsible for managing that organisations use of this information.
Financial information, including donations, will not be shared with any third party. The Seymour Centre will not otherwise trade, sell or rent personal information about our customers to or with third parties.
Marketing by the Seymour Centre
The Seymour Centre has a monthly enewsletter which features details of upcoming events, pre-sale information and special offers from the Seymour Centre. From time-to-time we will also produce emails for events at the Seymour. We also produce a seasonal printed brochure which highlights key events during that period.
When you purchase a ticket(s) to an event at the Seymour you will be asked at the time of the transaction whether you wish to receive information from the Seymour Centre about future events. You will also be asked how you would prefer to receive this information; either via email, mail or both. You can also sign up to our enewsletter via our website (www.seymourcentre.com).
The Seymour Centre only sends marketing material to patrons who have agreed to receive such communication and will only communicate with patrons by the method that they have requested. On all communications patrons will be given the option to “opt-out” of future correspondence.
How to check and update your personal details and preferences
