How We Learnt To Love Again

Presented by The University of Sydney Union and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
In a world where love is chained, these words must be heard. Love needs not a reason. Love need not follow rules. Love just is. Now I’m not saying you’re going to learn much but I’ll be damned if that really just ain’t the point of it all…
From the deepest unknown we enter a world of parents’ lost dreams, the dream for us to be the great actors that they never were, forced upon us. We snap. We can’t take it anymore. These aren’t ours dreams, our dreams were to be police detectives. We ask our football coach for advice but he talks of ghosts; about how is his wife left him for a truck. He jokes how their son will fall in love with the Eiffel tower. We find ourselves laughing, but not about this; someone has been murdered down at the old university, with a shoelace no less, and seeing as we just made sergeant we better get down there…
With its largest cast in years drawn from the far reaches of the Arts faculty, directors Bridie “Daddy Mack” Connell and Nick “Pumpkin-Tits” Fischer have fashioned a show that will make your heart explode with joy. With an original score composed by musical director Roman Benedict and the cast, this year’s revue promises to be unique and exhilarating affair. Exploring the delightful, devastating and just downright weird effects of love, this year’s show is full to the brim with slick sketches, dazzling dances, magical musical numbers and audio-visual adventures, and awesome alliteration.
