During July and August 2008, 36 of the world's finest pianists will compete for the honour of 1st prize and a celebratory tour of Australia, plus many other cash prizes and valuable engagement offers for the major prize winners.

Live international auditions will select the best of several hundred applicants and you will have the opportunity to select your favourite performer by joining in the voting for the People's Choice Prizewinner on the final afternoon.

You can hear all the pianists in Stage I and Stage II recitals; 20 quarter finalists in Stage III recitals; 12 semi finalists in Stage IV recital/chamber music concerts; and the 6 finalists who each perform a Mozart concerto and a 19th or 20th century concerto both with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
