City of Sydney Sings Messiah

Messiah

On Sunday 21 November this year at 3pm, Sydney University Graduate Choir and Orchestra, under acclaimed Music Director Christopher Bowen OAM, will once again be leading a massed choir of 600 singers in an exciting performance of the glorious oratorio, Messiah, by the great German-born composer, George Frederic Handel. In 2007 when the choir last presented City of Sydney Sings Messiah, it was a great success and a wonderful occasion, drawing singers together from across New South Wales, interstate, and even overseas.

The soloists are Elke Hook (soprano), Tim Chung (alto), Robert Boyd (tenor), and Morgan Pearse (bass).

Generously supported by Westfield and the City of Sydney, the performance will take place in the magnificent, newly refurbished, Sydney Town Hall as part of Christmas in the City of Sydney 2010.

Come and enjoy the grandeur and joy of Handel's Messiah!
