The Fifth House

22 June, 8pm
The Fifth House is a five-piece vocal group. Their unique style of a cappella is a blend of jazz, pop and world music with a few other styles thrown in for good measure. They create a truly distinctive sound that's immediately engaging and makes you feel good just to hear.
The Fifth House released their first CD to critical acclaim in the winter of 2004. Since then, the personnel and repertoire have changed quite a bit, as has their sound. The unusual addition of a second female tenor has created a lot of scope for interesting vocal combinations and textures, particularly in jazz arrangements.
"Five and a half stars" Shane Nichols, Australian Financial Review
1st prize winners in The MacDonald's Challenge, The Fifth House have been thrilling audiences in and around Sydney since they established their new line-up last year. They've also been working up quite a few new arrangements including some great pieces by notable a cappella acts such as The Real Group, Vox One and Take 6. This is going to be a concert worth hearing.
