2009 Corridors of Power
Cheating, Lying, Stealing
Presented by Topology

Performance + CD launch of Big Decisions.
Enriched with beguiling melodies and tight pulse-based instrumentation, five-piece band Topology’s Corridors of Power will lift your soul.
This hand crafted program includes some Topology favourites in addition to the voice music pieces Big Decisions. Be left with warm memories of this spirited, precision music, rich humour and beautiful melodies.
With the same line up for 12 years, Topology’s principals Christa Powell (violin), Bernard Hoey (viola), Kylie Davidson (piano), Robert Davidson (bass), and John Babbage (saxophone) consistently deliver new virtuosic experiences with each new show.
Topology will launch their new album Big Decisions on the national Corridors of Power tour. Demonstrating how our big decisions characterise us as a nation, Topology uses the voices of famous politicians such as Gough Whitlam and Joh Bjelke-Perterson in their compositions.
Big Decisions with Gough Whitlam, Sir John Kerr and Malcolm Fraser voices, recorded at the time of the dismissal in 1975, are used as the basis of Davidson’s music. The effect is that the politicians are heard to sing – Whitlam waltzes his way through Well may we say God save the Queen.
