The Seymour's Inaugural 2008 Subscription Season Launch!

Thursday October 11, 2007

The Seymour Centre proudly launched its inaugural 2008 Subscription Season on Thursday 11 October, 2007. We want our diverse audience to continue to access a large degree of variety at the Centre (something we have long been known for), whilst being assured of the artistic value and quality of our principal curatorial choices. In ‘making a season’ of top productions – and committing to the streamlining of our marketing and promotional messages - we have tried in 2008 to programme something to suit everyone. We’ve also packaged an array of special offers for the theatre goer who still wants more!

Everest York Seymour himself (who left a very generous Bequest in 1966, entrusted to the University of Sydney) wanted the Seymour to serve as a centre for the cultivation, education and performance of musical and dramatic art…. That means he was not only concerned with the presentation of the performing arts – where the finished product meets its audience - but that he understood there is an inevitable supply chain wherein creative impulses, ideas, projects, artists and companies need opportunities to grow and develop.

The Seymour’s 2008 Subscription Season is about giving voice to that dream. It’s about stepping up to share the risk and adventure – to reach out to the community to create pathways and partnerships that tie artists, producers and audiences together.
