MUSICALIVE: ZEEKO

20-23,27 & 30 JAN 10AM & 12PM
28 & 29 JAN 10AM ONLY
Sydney Festival, Musica Viva and the Seymour Centre
Sing, dance and play!
Music comes to life in this performance by Zeeko, created especially for children aged 3-8 and their families.
Zeeko’s original, energetic tunes explore the natural environment and are performed with boxes, rainsticks, bottles and electric guitars, created from natural and man-made items. Zeeko performs in the ‘Proms format’ where big friends and little friends will enjoy the close engagement with the musicians and their instruments.
As their music features ‘found’ or ‘junk’ percussion instruments using recycled and/or everyday items, Zeeko invites all the children in attendance to bring with them a household item that makes a sound. For example, a saucepan that can be hit, a plastic container filled with rice that can be shaken, a metal colander that can be scraped, a bottle that can be blown across, or a collection of elastic bands stretched across an box that can be plucked. Please bring on the day- the more creative the better!
Your children can also enter the colouring in competition! Download the appropriate page at http://www.musicaviva.com.au/education/musicalive and bring to the concert.
Zeeko is the latest ensemble from Musica Viva, Australia’s premier organisation dedicated to bringing quality music to people of all ages.
Presented as part of Sydney Festival at the Seymour
