Regional Partnerships and Programs
The University of Sydney and its Social Inclusion Unit are committed in their engagement in rural areas. Rural areas are diverse and valuable, from research and outreach to student placement and professional development.
As we deepen our commitment to engaged enquiry, our aim is to identify rural communities with which we can most fruitfully partner across a range of initiatives. We will identify a number of communities with whom we have existing links, particularly those where we already have a physical presence, and build stronger University-wide cooperation with them across a range of activities.
The University has used Higher Education Participation and Partnership Funding to employ a Projects Officer Regional Program, who is actively working with schools and communities in regional areas to develop and deliver wider participation.
