Parents

The University of Sydney acknowledges that parents have enormous influence on the decisions their children will make about his or her education and career, with their perceptions and experiences of education and work having a real impact on your child from an early age.

In recognition of this fact, the University of Sydney hosts information days on campus specifically for parents and community members from the Compass partner schools which provide a first-hand experience of university life: an opportunity to meet students and staff and obtain information about education options.

Parents and community members are welcome to visit the University at any time, and are encouraged to participate in the University of Sydney Open Day, held in August each year. Galleries of photographs of student and parent visits can be viewed here.

The Social Inclusion Unit produces support and information resources for the benefit of parents. In addition, information can also be accessed via Make your Mark, as well as in different languages through Bridges to Higher Education.
