Teachers are extremely influential on students' aspirations and educational outcomes. Compass works with teachers to complement students' learning, offering a range of professional development courses and information, as well as advice to support students in areas of study skills, scholarship and entry pathways to higher education.

Professional development programs range from skills training and short courses to postgraduate study. Sessions for teachers are often built into programs in schools. The short courses offered by the University are endorsed by the NSW Institute of Teachers, including Aboriginal Education Workshops (PDF).

We also develop and provide targeted information, via Bridges Connect, about higher education pathways and benefits for use by principals, year coordinators, careers teachers, careers advisors, professional development staff, community liaison officers, school learning support officers, Aboriginal support staff, and others who support students and parents to make decisions about higher education.
