Field schools and exchanges

Do you want to study in Southeast Asia? There are a number of ways that students at the University of Sydney can participate in exchange programs or field schools in Southeast Asian countries.

  • The Australian Consortium for In-Country Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) is available and we encourage students studying Indonesian to access its services. The consortium also offers semester-long programs taught in English in development studies, international studies and Islamic studies and short courses in journalism.
  • The School of Geosciences offers a Geography Field School which has already been held in Thailand, Laos, Malaysia and Indonesia.
  • The Sydney Law School offers a Southeast Asia Winter School which is run in Malaysia and Indonesia.
  • Students at the University's Wesley College can participate in the Overseas Study Experience which involves studying, working and traveling in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
