Academic Staff Agreement 2006-2008

The Academic Staff Agreement commenced in 2006 and its nominal expiry date was the 31st October 2008. This agreement impacts all academic staff (continuing, fixed term, casual or postgraduate) at the University except those exempt in clause 5.1 and 5.2 such as the director and staff of the University’s Centre for English Teaching (CET) (see clause 5.1). The agreement also does not apply to senior management roles "whose salary and loadings exceed the Level E Professorial Salary Rate" (PART A, clause 5.2).

The agreement includes clauses covering:

  • anti-discrimination
  • categories of workers
  • classifications of workers and salaries including rates of pay, loadings, salary advancement, superannuation and remuneration
  • leave entitlement
  • duties and workloads of academic staff

The agreement also stipulates performance management and development, managing change, retirement and redundancy, termination on grounds of ill health, cessation of employment and consultation and dispute resolution.
