Office of the Marketing and Communications Division

Director Marian Theobald Leads the division, and works across the University to manage the brand and develop corporate marketing strategies.
Executive Officer Martha McCall Manages the business functions and planning of the division and works with the management team to align the division’s budget to objectives and priorities.  Provides high level advice to the Director on matters of policy development, coordination and communication and coordinates strategic initiatives and special projects.
Executive Assistant Yvette Zuidema Provides executive support to the Director, Marketing and Communications, including diary management and organising special projects, programs and events.
Administrative Assistant Terence Ryan Looks after general administrative tasks, organises meetings, manages and purchases office supplies, does word processing and liaises with staff for the division.

Brand and Marketing

Acting Head, Brand and Marketing Kate Walker Leads Brand and Marketing in the development of the brand strategy and platform and the University’s communications plans, including institutional-level marketing campaigns.
Brand Manager Kerry Capsanis Manages University brand identity, including the brand style guidelines and marketing and communications templates; brand management and policy across the University including brand approvals; supports the implementation of the University's brand strategy.
Marketing and Communications Manager Melina Stephanos Leads the development and implementation of the University’s corporate marketing communications strategy, creating and managing brand campaigns, and providing marketing communications services to key units, as required.
Marketing Assistant Andrea Dyson Provides brand and marketing administrative and project related support, including maintenance of University brand guidelines; brand tracking; review of University and competitor marketing and communications material; and assisting in the development of brand training and institution-wide communications.

Media and Communications

Head, Media and Communications Sarah Stock Leads and manages media and communications; provides advice on media strategy, broader University media and communications strategies, placement of op-eds, and media training.
Corporate Communications Manager Ben Wilson Provides communications advice and support for high-priority online, digital and print publications for major University-wide strategic initiatives.
Staff Communications Manager Tim McCarron Provides communications advice. Develops, plans and manages University-wide communication strategies. Editor of Staff News and local brand approver for marketing and communications materials.

Student Communications Manager

David Sams Manages student communications, is the brand approver for DVC Education units, editor of At Sydney and 'Important Messages' on MyUni, and oversees the University Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Media Adviser Verity Leatherdale Manages media for Medicine, Science, Veterinary Science and Agriculture.
Media Adviser Jocelyn Prasad Manages media for Museums, Arts and Social Sciences, Law, and Education and Social Work.
Media Adviser Jacqueline Chowns Manages media for Arts and Social Sciences, Law, and Education and Social Work.
Media Adviser Kath Kenny Manages media for Sydney Ideas, Architecture, Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Sydney College of the Arts.
Media Adviser Victoria Hollick Manages media for Engineering, Nursing, Dentistry and Pharmacy.
Assistant Media Adviser Katie Szittner Manages general media and find-an-expert enquiries, and maintains expert database. Manages media for Health Sciences, Museums, Business School.
E-Communications Officer

Manages staff and student e-newsletters, University news website, broadcast emails and social media channels.

Web and Print Production

Role Contact details Responsibilities
Head, Web and Print Production Jane Clements Leads strategic development and implementation of planning, research, policy, systems, projects and continuous quality improvement for the University's website and print collateral within Web and Print Production.
Operations Manager Michelle Shepherd Schedules production (print and design) work and is the initial contact for all such work. Also manages the scheduling and resourcing of all WPP work.
Production Coordinator Harbinder Kaur Coordinates print requirements and liaises with suppliers for all publication needs.
Graphic Design Manager Rhys Holland Creates the look of all internal publications, logo, print templates.
Graphic Designer Camille Manley Collaborates with the Graphic Design Manager to provide creative graphic design solutions across a broad range of print and electronic productions.
Editorial Manager Martin Foster Develops and sets editorial standards for print and online communications that meet the University's strategic objectives. Reviews content to ensure it is accurate, engaging and consistent with our editorial style, brand style and tone of voice.
Editor Katie Leach Answers editorial style guide queries, provides general copyediting, proofing and copywriting for a range of publications, including student handbooks.
Information Management Officer and Handbooks Administrator Linda Carmichael Creates information updates for publications and the corporate website, and manages ISBN and ImageBank enquiries.
Web Manager

Nick Evans

Leads and manages the web team and web projects and contributes to the University's web strategy, to ensure its websites meet quality standards and bring the brand to life.
Web Development Officer David Jessup Provides web development expertise to support the University's web strategy, enhances the corporate web presence, and meets the needs of the client base.
Web Development Officer Alex Motyka Provides web development expertise to support the University's web strategy, enhances the corporate web presence, and meets the needs of the client base.
