Program governance, organisation and control measures exist to ensure the work conducted by the Sydney Student Program is aligned to the University’s broader strategy, operating model and management approach.

The Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stephen Garton, is the sponsor for Sydney Student. Mr Vaughan Stibbard is the Sydney Student Program Director.

The Sydney Student governance groups are:

Sydney Student Program Board

The objective of the Sydney Student Program Board is to provide governance and oversight for the Sydney Student Program through the provision of advice to the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

The membership is:

The Chair can at any time co-opt any University stakeholder to the Sydney Student Program Board to provide advice on an as-required basis. Regular attendees include:

Business Architecture Steering Group

The Business Architecture Steering Group was established in May 2013.

The objective of the Business Architecture Steering Group is to provide business operations oversight for the Sydney Student Program through the provision of advice to the Provost and SSP Director. The group is appointed to:

  • provide timely strategic and operations oversight and advice, for the Sydney Student Program through the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor
  • review and adopt recommendations, and endorse decisions relevant to the effective operations of the University and SSP
  • provide regular updates on business process recommendations and endorsements to the Program Board
  • act as champion of the Sydney Student Program across the University.

Reference groups

The objective of the Sydney Student Program reference groups is to review and adopt recommendations and provide issue resolution and decision making regarding process and build design for an individual delivery team within the Sydney Student Program.

Reference groups exist for: Student Recruitment and Admission, Offer to Enrolment, Student Maintenance, Assessment, Progression and Award, Finance, Research Management, and Academic Model (via the Academic Board).

Technical Reference Group

Recognising that technology delivery is a critical factor in the overall success of the Sydney Student Program, the Technical Reference Group provides technical oversight advice, ensures compliance with the University's ICT strategic plan and guidelines and acts as champions of the Sydney Student Program across the University.
