Sponsorship and governance

Program governance, organisation and control measures exist to ensure the work conducted by the Sydney Student Program is aligned to the University’s broader strategy, operating model and management approach.

SSP is an initiative of the Education Portfolio and is sponsored by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), Professor Derrick Armstrong, who also chairs the SSP board.

Ms Gillian Luck, Director Student Lifecycle Management, is the Business Owner for the program.

Mr Michael Blumer is the Sydney Student Program Director.

Sydney Student Program Board

The Sydney Student Program Board aims to provide strategic advice and direction for the Sydney Student Program (SSP) through the DVC (Education) and Registrar. It aims to champion the program to all University stakeholders.

Technical Reference Group

The Technical Reference Group (TRG) recognises that technology delivery is a critical factor in the overall success of the Sydney Student Program. It aims to provide technical advice to the program, particularly in relation to matters affecting Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Sydney Student Program Compliance Group

This group provides recommendations and validation on issues of compliance across all areas of the Sydney Student Program. The group provides recommendations on the interpretation of identified University policy, procedures and guidelines and legislative requirements and advises on their integration within Sydney Student process and system build. Where there is an absence of clarity or consistency in University policy, the group assists the Program in resolving these issues, including the preparation of reports for escalation to the Business Operations Group or Sydney Student Program Board as required.

The group also contributes to the prioritisation of incidents or enhancements pertaining to issues of compliance.
