Get Involved

We are always looking for talented people who can contribute their experience and knowledge to assist us in providing the best possible student and staff experience.

The success of the Student Lifecycle Management Program is largely dependent on the valuable contribution of knowledge and expertise from staff across the University.

There are a number of ways to get involved. There are opportunities to work for the program full-time or simply attend consultation sessions focussing on particular work areas. Most importantly, we are currently looking for people to be involved in testing the new system.

See below for current opportunities to get involved or contact us directly.

Testing

We are currently looking for people with the relevant knowledge and experience to start testing the Enquiries and Applications section of the new system. Being involved in testing is the best way to fully understand the new system and be satisfied that it meets the requirements of the University.

We are looking for staff who can work for us full-time during the entire testing phase as well as those who would simply like to participate in specific testing activities over a few days.

Staff involved in testing will need to be empowered to approve defects resolutions and be able to sign-off on processes.

Please see below the dates for the various phases of testing and . We will need to know your name, where you work in the University, your availability and area of expertise. If you would like to discuss further, please contact our Testing Manager, James Stewart or our Communications Manager, on 9114 0683.

In order to participate, you will need the approval of your faculty manager or the head of your business unit.

October – testing training

October to November – write and prepare UAT Test Cases for the testing team.
A UAT test case describes in simple language the precise steps to be taken to test the system. This requires a thorough understanding of the demands that may be placed on the system and the University’s business requirements.

November and December- User Acceptance Testing
User Acceptance Testing is the final step before we Go Live with each area of Sydney Student.

People from across the University, with knowledge of each area, will use the system, testing numerous different scenarios, before ‘accepting’ the system. This testing will give you the opportunity to check that the system meets the needs of the University and will help us locate and fix any bugs prior to Go Live. It will also give you a thorough understanding of the system.

Full-time employment opportunities

We are not currently advertising any full-time opportunities. If you are interested in working on the program please .

Attend consultation sessions for particular work streams

For each area of the program, we consult subject matter experts across the University to assist us in designing an effective student lifecycle management program.

In order to participate, you will need the approval of your faculty manager or the head of your business unit.

Coming soon, we will have a comprehensive list of all work areas and what will be required of our stakeholders. In the meantime, you can contact us directly on communications.slm@sydney.edu.au.
