Did you miss out on your course?
Don't worry if you missed out the first time. There are many paths to a degree at the University if Sydney, and you still have options.
Transferring

You can consider enrolling in another course, either at the University of Sydney or at another institution, and apply to transfer after you complete one full-time year of tertiary study. Please note that this form of admission is very competitive.
Transferring requirements vary between faculties, but you will generally be assessed on the basis of:
- your university results, or
- a combination of your university results and ATAR, depending which gives you a greater chance of admission.
You may also need to submit additional information in cases where courses have additional entry requirements. Search the courses database or check our Flexible Entry Pathways website for more information.
Consider your graduate options
In some cases, you can study a generalist degree and combine it with the professional or specialist qualifications gained from graduate study.
For example, if you do not receive the ATAR required for entry to physiotherapy you can study a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a Human Movement major and follow it with the Graduate Entry Master of Physiotherapy.
These pathways may take longer, but still allow you to achieve your goals.
If you missed out and are still confused about your options, please contact us (see box). We have trained advisers on hand to provide you with advice about how the University can help you achieve your study goals.
