How offers are made

The University of Sydney makes offers in three of the UAC Offer Rounds – Main, Late and Final (the University also makes offers in the Early January Round to some applicants for nursing, visual arts and music courses).
As explained in the how to apply section, you can only receive one offer in each round of offers.
Early January Round Offers are e-released at 9:00am on Wednesday, 4 January 2012. You can find out details of your offer by logging into the UAC website. You will enrol during the Main Round Enrolment (see details below).
Main Round Offers are e-released at 9:00pm on Wednesday, 18 January 2012. You can find out details of your offer by logging into the UAC website. The following day, you will be sent a formal offer letter from UAC to your correspondence address. You will need to detach the offer slip at the bottom of this letter and bring this with you to enrolment.
Late Round Offers are e-released on Wednesday, 1 February 2012 and Final Round Offers are e-released on Wednesday, 9 February 2012. Again, you can view these offers online on the UAC website and a formal offer letter will be sent to you the following day.
To accept your UAC Offer at the University of Sydney you are required to attend an in-person enrolment session on campus. This session will be scheduled either in the morning or afternoon of your designated enrolment day. Enrolment days for each UAC Offer Round are:
Early January Round Offers: 2327 January 2012
Main Round Offers: 2327 January 2012
Late Round Offers: 3 February 2012
Final Round Offers: 13 February 2012
You are not required to accept your offer online.

Being considered in the Late and Final Rounds

You will not necessarily be considered for the Late and Final Rounds. Why?
If you receive your first preference in the Main Round, your application is considered complete and you will not be considered for the Late and Final Rounds.
If you receive your second, third, fourth or beyond preference, you will be considered for all courses above your offered course in subsequent rounds. This means that if you received a Main Round Offer for the Bachelor of Arts at Sydney and it was your third preference, you will be re-considered for your first and second preferences in the Late Round but no preferences beyond that.
No matter what offer you received in the Main Round, you can reorder your preferences for the Late and Final Rounds. The deadline for Late Round is Wednesday, 25 January 2012, and Final Round is Thursday, 2 February 2012.
When changing your preferences, remember that you will only be considered for any course that is above the course you received an offer for in a previous offer round.
It is essential that you still accept your Main Round Offer (by enrolling in person). If you wait until the Late or Final Round Offers are released, you may lose your place in the original course.
