STEM Academy launches primary program in Wagga Wagga

Wagga Wagga STEM launch 2017

March 21, 2017

On the 16th and 17th of March, 14 partner schools from Wagga Wagga attended the inaugural STEM Academy program for primary schools.

35 teachers participated in the two-day professional learning session at the Wagga Wagga Commercial Club, which focused on development of knowledge of STEM education and teaching experiments that promote student engagement and learning.

The Academy was launched in Wagga Wagga to take advantage of existing professional relationships within and between schools in the area, particularly the Kooringal High School and Kildare Catholic College, both of which were STEM Academy Partner Schools in 2015.

Teachers participating in the program will attend another two-day professional learning session in June, as a follow up of the earlier program in March.

A one-day showcase session is scheduled on Friday, the 27th of October, where Partner Schools will present the results of the STEM initiatives they will have trialled in schools. Other local schools and community members are welcome to attend the showcase session. If you are interested in attending, please contact us.
