About Disability Services

Helping you reach your academic potential

Disability Services helps students who have a disability to access reasonable adjustments, and provides advice to prospective students about support services.

Reasonable adjustments are any changes to the academic environment that provide a student with a disability the best possible opportunity to succeed in their studies.

As the main point of contact and support for students with disabilities, Disability Services works closely with both administration and academic departments of the University.

This is to ensure that appropriate arrangements relating to teaching and assessment are made for students with disabilities, while maintaining the academic integrity and core requirements of individual courses.

Our principles

Disability Services encourages independence, responsibility and autonomy in the students that access this service.

Once registered, students have access to an online service request system which allows them to manage their needs independently and in their own time.

How to find us

We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions about the services we provide.

Our main office is on Level 5 of the Jane Foss Russell Building, but you can make an appointment to meet our Disability Support Officers at other locations around the Camperdown/Darlington Campus and at satellite campuses.

"While my overall Sydney experience has been enjoyable, there were also some challenging and difficult times. It was the support provided by Disability Services and faculty staff that helped me get the most out of my subjects and survive exams."
