How to Apply

Continuing students

1. Unit of Study selection

Review the Summer School Unit of study List for unit availability, timetable, tuition fees and any academic prerequisites for admission. You may apply to enrol in two Units of Study at Summer School.

Please Note: Timetable clashes are not permitted (please see here for more information), please check timetables before submitting your application to enrol in two Units of Study at Summer School.

2. Submit your application

Please Login to Sydney Student click on 'My Studies' >'Summer/Winter School' > Enter Summer School Unit of Study Code > Follow the prompts to submit your application.

If you would like to select a Unit of Study outside your degree plan or waive a prerequisite, please submit a Special Permission request in Sydney Student.

3. Payment

Your Student Financial Statement in Sydney Student will be updated once your application for Summer/Winter School has been approved and you are enrolled.

If you’re eligible to request HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP you will need complete an online HECS-HELP/FEE-HELP form accessible in Sydney Student.

Please note: if you have applied for a degree transfer you will need to fill out another HECS-HELP/FEE-HELP form in Sydney Student once this degree transfer has been approved, as filling out this form only refers to your current enrolment. If you do not complete another HECS-HELP form once enrolled in your new degree, you will be charged the full-fee rate.

Upfront payment can be made by using one of our accepted payment methods.

You will need to pay or defer your fees within 4 calendar days otherwise you may be withdrawn.

Commencing Cross Institutional and Non Award students

You can study at Summer School on a Non-Award basis by enrolling into a unit of study without advancing to an award such as a degree, if you are enrolled at an overseas university, or are a tertiary qualified Australian citizen, or on a Cross-Institutional basis if you are enrolled in a course at another domestic university and want to count a completed Unit of Study at Summer School toward your degree.

2. Submit your application

Under each unit description on the Unit of study List there will be a link to the appropriate Non-Award (red button) or Cross-Institutional course (yellow button), click on 'Apply Now'; follow the steps through Sydney Student to register your application. Please include all required documentation as part of your application.

Upload supporting documents:
  1. Your current academic transcript as evidence of your enrolment;
  2. A letter from your home university indicating approval to credit your Sydney study to your course (Cross-Institutional student only);
  3. IELTS or equivalent English language test documentation;
  4. Evidence of identity and citizenship/residency (e.g passport, visa ect.)

3. Accept your offer

An offer letter will be sent to your provided email address.

A conditional offer will be made if you have not provided all essential information as part of your application. You are required to meet all conditions before we can issue you with an unconditional offer.

Before you can enrol you need accept your unconditional offer in Sydney Student as outlined in your offer letter.

4. Enrol

Follow the online steps in Sydney Student to complete the enrolment task.

5. Payment

To secure your place you will need to pay your fees within 10 calendar days.

Cross-Instititional students may be eligible for HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP. Please check requirements here here regarding your eligibility. Non-Award students are required to pay the full-fee rate.
