How to Apply

Continuing students

1. Unit of Study selection

Review the 2015 Summer School Subject List on the summer school website for subject availability, timetable, fees and any academic prerequisites for admission to individual Units of Study. If you wish to take the maximum two Summer School Units of Study, it is your responsibility to check that timetabled lectures and/or tutorials do not clash. If they do, you will need to re-select Units of Study that do not clash, so you can meet the University’s requirement for attendance at a minimum 80% of classes for any Unit of Study.

2. Login to your Sydney Student portal

Add your Summer School Unit of Study selections to your enrolment record.

3. Special permission

If you would like to select a Unit of Study from outside your standard course or program, please submit a Special Permission request. All requests will be considered on an academic basis, but please be aware that Units of Study offered in Summer School are subject to quotas and it is not always possible to accommodate all requests. Students undertaking a Unit of Study within their approved course will be generally be accommodated before Special Permission requests are assessed.

If you are enrolled in a course at Sydney and you wish to undertake, separately, a Unit of Study that is not part of your course, you can apply for admission to non-award study. Please follow the guide for commencing or external students, noting that FEE-HELP is not available to domestic students for non-award study.

4. Payment

On completion of your selection, or following approval of your admission to a Unit of Study after a Special Permission request, you will view a refreshed Student Financial Statement on completion of your Unit of Study selection. If you’re eligible to request FEE-HELP you can fill in the form online, otherwise you can pay by credit card online.
Please note you will need to pay your fees within 3 working days otherwise you will be withdrawn and your place will be offered to another student.
