There are over 700 scholarships on offer each year. We need your help to maintain our ability to provide a world class education to talented, underrepresented students.

Alumni scholarships

The Alumni Scholarships scheme honours the crucial role played by alumni in nurturing our best scholars. Since 2006, the University has awarded three postgraduate Alumni Scholarships a year, each worth $5000.

These scholarships assist students with payment for rent, textbooks, commuting to University and food. Your contributions will go directly towards the Alumni Scholarships, providing for academically bright students in acute financial need.

International House scholarships & bursaries

The International House has scholarships and bursaries available to assist those students who are in financial need.

The House offers a unique environment in which over 200 students from a variety of countries can develop a greater understanding of different cultures and nationalities.

With your help, we can expand the number of scholarships available.

Sports scholarships

The Sporting Scholarship Program provides aid to elite athletes who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend University. Your donations will give these young men and women a chance to compete and flourish: At the most recent Commonwealth Games, nine Sydney athletes were medal winners.

The University of Sydney Sport Foundation is structured so that gifts can be directed to support “sport in general” or “specific sporting clubs,” of which there are currently 44 affiliates.
