Cuddle for a Cause - youth mental health
On Tuesday 13 March the Student Alumni Association produced its first fundraising activity for 2012, with fantastic results. Raising funds for the Brain & Mind Research Institute’s youth mental health programs, 113 students made a gift to support the cause, raising a total of $540.80!
The SAA wanted to promote the amazing work done by the BMRI with the idea that a little time spent with animals might alleviate stress and anxiety for students on campus.
The SAA executives sourced 15 adorable puppies and erected a temporary fenced area on the law lawns. With over 250 students mobilised via Facebook before the big day, the SAA estimates that more than 500 students were reached through the online and face-to-face activity.
A huge thank you to our photographers:

Birthing Kit Appeal
In October 2011, the Student Alumni Association worked closely with Sydney Nursing School on their inaugural community health care initiatives project, the birthing kit fundraising appeal.
With 188 student donors and nearly $1000 raised, the appeal was a huge success and we are looking forward to running it again in 2012!
