About us
Welcome to Sydney Ideas
Sydney Ideas is the University of Sydney’s premier public lecture series program that aims to bring some of Sydney’s, Australia’s and the world’s, leading thinkers to the wider Sydney community. Since 2006 Sydney Ideas has featured more than 50 of the world’s leading thinkers including Tariq Ali, Tim Flannery, Robert Fisk, Frank Furedi, Gareth Evans and Bill McKibben.
The aim of the series is to highlight the essential role of the University of Sydney in providing a bridge between the academic community and the public, and to share with the whole community the importance and value of ideas that make a difference. The program offers a range of ticketed and free lectures, at a range of times throughout the week to ensure access for all. We also provide audio podcasts and videos of many of our lectures for those who can not always make it to our venues.

We welcome your feedback on the content of individual lectures through our comments page. If you have any more general questions or comments on the Sydney Ideas program, please send an . We welcome your feedback.
The Sydney Ideas program is managed within the Alumni and Events Office of the External Relations Portfolio of the University of Sydney.
