Organise
- Your computer logon and email – you will be issued with an email address and Unikey account. A UniKey account is a login name and password that grants you access to online services and e-facilities such as email and internet access. For IT assistance call the ICT Helpdesk, telephone 9351 6000, 8:00am to 9:00pm Monday - Friday or contact them by email
- Your staff card This is important as your staff card:
- Identifies you as a member of University of Sydney staff;
- Allows you to use all University library facilities, including borrowing books;
- Provides access to the Staff Card Benefits Program which delivers an extensive range of discounts and special deals for staff. - Your access to secure buildings (procedures and access hours vary from building to building).
Locate
- Facilities (kitchen, toilets, equipment, mailroom, stationery); take a tour of the building
- Emergency exits and first aid representatives
Confirm
- Your schedule for the first week
Review
- Your workplace health and safety responsibilities - sign in to the Learning Module of Careerpath (using your unikey) to enrol in online Occupational Health and Safety training. Talk to your manager about any other training you are eligible to attend.
- Casual staff may have a Performance Management & Development (PM&D) review to assess their suitability for re-engagement (either as a casual or otherwise) and applications for conversion. Refer to the HR website for more information about the University’s PM&D program.
