KPA 1 - Client focus
Deliver services that are driven by student/staff or external client needs; meet the needs and expectations of students/staff/alumni/ prospective students/employers
|
Objectives within "Client focus" relate to goals including:
-
communicating effectively and efficiently with clients (egresponding to all student email queries within 24 hours)
-
providing reliable and consistent services to clients (eg developing a procedures manual to assist staff in your area to respond consistently to student questions)
-
understanding and addressing client needs (eg tracking queries from staff about IT problems)
-
establishing and building effective relationships (eg establishing and maintaining good relations with students).

KPA 2 - Learning and innovation
Keep up to date with skills and knowledge to perform your role; apply knowledge and experience to innovate practices, processes or procedures at work
|
Objectives within "Learning & innovation" relate to goals including:
-
taking a proactive problem-solving approach to work (eg responding to a complex student query by alerting your Supervisor and at the same time suggesting a solution that will resolve the issue)
-
generating ideas and being receptive to new ideas (eg using information from client feedback to suggest changes to current methods of communicating new policy)
-
supporting and adapting to changes in the workplace (eg coordinating relevant development activities to maintain and upgrade professional, technical and trade skills)
-
having the capacity to take advantage of changing demands by introducing new ideas, knowledge, technologies, which improve the way things are done for clients (eg participating in the project to introduce an applicant tracking system for prospective students).

KPA 3 - Resource management and quality
Manage resources and improve the quality of work including coordinating activities, budgets, facilities or other resources
|
Objectives within "Resource management and quality" relate to University and unit goals including:
-
focusing on results, planning for outcomes (eg developing schedules and timelines for completion of activities)
-
presenting material professionally (eg accurately typing minutes and following up on outcomes as required
-
maintaining University facilities (eg completing maintenance jobs to standards specified in Service level agreements)
-
producing work within agreed timelines (eg delivering projects on time and on budget)
-
managing budgets (eg effectively managing funds within timeframes and budget)
-
active participation in the management of Occupational Health and Safety and other University compliance policies.

KPA 4 - Teamwork and leadership
Actively contribute to the achievement of team outcomes by either leading a team, coordinating or participating in team activities or tasks, that is, being a team player

Objectives within "Teamwork and leadership" relate to University and unit goals including:

building effective relationships (eg participating in team meetings)

providing support/advice/mentoring (eg acting as a mentor for staff
-
articulating a clear mission and vision (eg communicating and implementing strategic plans
-
creating an environment in which people of all cultures work together in partnership (eg actively promoting equal opportunity in the workplace
-
being a good ‘organisational citizen’ (eg participating in Open Days; participation on Selection Committees for staff positions).
