Leaving the University
Online Staff Exit Survey
The University of Sydney invites all departing employees to participate in an Online Staff Exit Survey.
This information assists the University to identify organisational and workplace issues, explore alternative working arrangements, improve work and management practices and develop strategies to retain staff.
The Exit Survey can be completed online using the link supplied above or face-to-face by contacting your HR Advisor. All individual survey responses will be handled in strict confidence. The information provided to The University of Sydney will be reported in such a way that respondents can not be individually identified.
What is an Online Staff Exit Survey?
Exit Surveys are questionnaires which can voluntarilty be completed by staff who are leaving the University.
Who sees the completed forms?
Exit Surveys are anonymous. Once completed, Surveys are analysed by the HR Relationship Management Group. Information is kept completely confidential and data obtained is aggregated to ensure that individuals are not able to be identified.
What is Exit Survey data used for?
The data obtained from The Online Staff Exit Surveys and other relevant feedback mechanisms is analysed annually and included in a report to the Director, Human Resources for discussion at SEG Human Resources and Equity Committee, the body responsible for setting the University’s strategic staffing directions and priorities.
Trends and issues identified in this report are used to shape future employment policies aimed at ensuring that the University continues to attract and retain high quality staff; and to compile an age/gender/classification profile of staff leaving the University and reasons for leaving.
What are the other ways in which staff can give feedback?
In addition to completing a confidential Online Staff Exit Survey, staff leaving the University may, if they so choose, participate in a face-to-face exit interview to discuss any employment-related issues or the reasons for their resignation in more detail. Participation in an exit interview is entirely voluntary; staff who wish to participate in such an interview are encouraged to contact their HR Advisor to make the necessary arrangements.
