Mr Michael Dunkel

Mr Michael Dunkel

Mr Dunkel is a Sydney solicitor. He holds a law degree from Sydney University and was, until 2013, the managing partner of a law firm that he founded. He is one of the two Trustees appointed to represent the Hebrew University.

Mr Dunkel has had a long association with the Hebrew University and was President of the New South Wales Friends of the Hebrew University from 1998 to 2017. He currently serves as Federal President of the Australian Friends of the Hebrew University. He is a member of the Hebrew University's Board of Governors, and of its Executive Committee. He is also a Governor of the Orion Foundation, which he helped establish in 1986 to fund various causes and projects including the Orion Center for the Study of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Mr Dunkel is also a director of the Education Heritage Foundation.

In 2005, Mr Dunkel became an Honorary Fellow of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and in 2007 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the same university in recognition of his services over many years.
