Mr Robert Simons OAM

Mr Simons is one of the two Trustees of the Fund designated to represent the Hebrew University. He is current President of the Australian Friends of the Hebrew University, a past President of the NSW Friends of the Hebrew University, a member of the Hebrew University's Board of Governors and a member of the Hebrew University's Executive Committee.

In addition to his involvements with the Friends of the Hebrew University over many years, Mr Simons has also been a tireless worker for a number of other Jewish communal organizations. He has served on the Board of Moriah College in several positions including President for a period of 6 years. He has been a director of the Australian Jewish Welfare Society, the Hakoah Club and the Association of Independent Schools.

Mr Simons' role in the Jewish community, and in particular his contribution to education, was recognised by the award of an OAM in the 2007 Australia Day Awards.

Mr Simons is a member of the Australian Institute of Engineering Associates and heads a company involved in the manufacture of steam boilers, humidifiers and compressed air equipment.
