Sir Zelman Cowen Universities Fund Grant for Novel Approaches to Therapy in Alzheimer's Disease

The Fund’s support of research and scientific work at the University of Sydney and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem over the last 35 years has included a number of previous grant programs in the field of AD research.

This new grant aims to encourage novel approaches to therapy for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and while open to individual applicants from both the University of Sydney and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, it encourages applications for joint projects from scientists of the two Universities and these will be given preference.

Applications for the grant closed on Friday 11 April 2014. The following were the guidelines for applicants:

1. The Grant will comprise an award of AUD250,000 over 2 years for a research project in the field of Alzheimer’s disease, where the aim of the project is to develop and/or assess new treatments for this condition.

2. Applicants must be members of staff of the University of Sydney or of the Hebrew University, with an appointment of appropriate duration. All else being equal regarding merit, joint applications for cooperative projects between members of staff of the two Universities will be given preference.

3. Applications should conform to the instructions available from the Fund's office. (See below.)

4. Completed applications should be sent by email to the submission address below by the closing date.
