2014 Fund Prize

EXTENDED CLOSING DATE FOR NOMINATIONS

The Trustees of the Sir Zelman Cowen Universities Fund announce that the Call for Nominations for the award of the Sir Zelman Cowen Universities Fund Prize for 2014 has been extended. Nominations for the Prize, which recognises discovery in medical research at the University of Sydney, should be made according to the Prize guidelines, and sent to the Fund's Office by Friday 28 February 2014.

Guidelines:
  • The Prize, which will comprise an award of AUS$10,000 and a medal, will be for discovery in medical research performed principally at the University of Sydney.
  • Nominees should have made a major contribution to the understanding or treatment of disease.
  • The nomination should identify the potential or achievement of the discovery for therapeutic outcomes.
  • Nominees should have been under 45 years of age at 22 November 2013 (the time of the earlier close of applications.)
  • It is anticipated that the award will be announced in April 2014.
  • Nominations should be completed following these guidelines and a pro forma available from the Fund's Office.
Note to nominators who submitted to the November 2013 closing date
Your earlier nomination will also be considered in this round. However, you may choose to submit a revised nomination if you prefer.
