University of Sydney Institute of Marine Science
USIMS is the face of Marine Science at the University of Sydney, promoting marine science, coordinating teaching and research, and fostering interdisciplinary research.
Australia's marine territory is one of the largest in the world, substantially larger than its total land area. Yet, a lot of the Australian marine environment is unexplored, providing many opportunities for research and many varied careers in marine science. Research by USIMS covers a wide range of areas, particularly in the Biological Sciences and Geosciences.
The University of Sydney offers three undergraduate majors and a range of postgraduate programs in Marine Science.

This exciting new program is a collaborative effort by the Sydney Institute of Marine Science, the University of Technology Sydney, Macquarie University and the University of New South Wales.
The Masters program offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge in a range of marine science and management disciplines which will equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to work in the challenging multidisciplinary field of marine science.
