As an affiliate of SIMS (Sydney Institute of Marine Science), USIMS is included in a long term discount offer from Plunge Diving, who are also situated at Chowder Bay.

The offers are:

University of Sydney ranked 16th for Earth & Marine Sciences

The 2012 QS World University Rankings has placed Sydney
University in 16th place for Natural Sciences: Earth and Marine Sciences, which is one place better than last year (see item below). Geography ranked 24th so the School of Geosciences has done very well!

University of Sydney ranked 17th for Earth & Marine Sciences

The latest rankings from QS World University Rankings have just been published for Physics and Environmental Science. The University of Sydney comes in equal 17th (tied with Yale) for the subject Earth and Marine Sciences.

The 2009 program for the University of the Sea / Université de la Mer has closed. The University of the Sea is a partnership between the University of Sydney, Intergovernmental ceanographic Commission of UNESCO & many other Universities & research centres in the Australasian & Indo-Pacific region. The University of the Sea is dedicated to building marine science capacity in the Asia Pacific region & aims to bring together senior researchers & young local scholars to address marine science issues of direct interest to their region.
