Research by Dr Jeff Downing from the Faculty of Veterinary Science was mentioned in a Canberra Timesarticle about animal cruelty.

ABC Radio Country Hour programs nationally interviewed Dr Jeff Downing, Faculty of Veterinary Science, on his research showing that free range hens are not necessarily happier than caged hens, in light of Woolworth’s announcement that they will phase out caged hen eggs by 2018.
