Research interests
Comparative infectious disease research
Retrovirus infections of cats (feline immunodeficiency virus [FIV], feline leukaemia virus [FeLV]).
Spontaneous feline models of viral oncogenesis.
Fungal diseases
Collaborators outside the Faculty include the University of Glasgow, University of Bristol and Colorado State University.
Teaching and supervision
Undergraduate teaching and supervision: Small animal medicine; years III, IV and V of BVSc degree. Supervision of students in year V honours and BSc (vet) honours programs. Postgraduate teaching: Clinical training of postgraduate interns and residents; Supervision of PhD, Masters and Graduate Diploma students.
