Plagiarism is a growing problem in science, and as postgraduates students it’s important you recognise what plagiarism is and you actively avoid it in your written work (thesis and any publications). The academic honesty module is a compulsory activity all students must undertake during their probationary period.
Successful completion of this module signifies your awareness of plagiarism and your obligation as a student at the University of Sydney to produce work that does not breach the academic dishonesty and plagiarism policy: http://sydney.edu.au/ab/policies/Academic_Honesty_Cwk.pdf.
You can access the module through the postgraduate BLACKBOARD site and should take approximately 1-2 hours if you do it all in one go, although you can take10-15 minutes here and there to complete each section – so long as you complete them in order. You’re encouraged to discuss and clarify plagiarism issues with your Supervisor and Postgraduate Coordinator early in your candidature.
