Dairy Research Foundation’s 2014 Symposium

This year’s Dairy Research Foundation’s annual symposium was held in the Hunter Valley on the 19-20 June at the Sebel Kirkton Park and John and Alison Redgrove’s property at Singleton.

With the theme of Growing dairy, speakers focused on the ways science and technology can contribute to the growth of the Australian dairy industry.

The first day was a seminar format, featuring a mix of presentations by dairy farmers, researchers and industry speakers.

The second day was held at the Redgrove’s property 'Rowanvale'. This family certainly understands what growth is about – in the past few years they have purchased extra land, expanded their cropping area and built a new rapid exit herringbone dairy. Participants heard about how dairy business growth has been aided by automation and innovation.
