Presenting Signs

A dermoid is a mass of normal skin which is located in an abnormal location. Nasal dermoids in cats may occur on or inside one or both nostrils. The dermoids may have hair growing from them. In some cases, nasal dermoids may interfere with the cat’s normal breathing as they can obstruct airflow in and out of the nostrils.
Treatment

Surgical. The defect is removed and the area is closed with sutures.
