Treatment

Medical: the congestive heart failure must be managed. Agents stimulating urination (loop diuretics) are used to reduce blood volume, and aspirin may be used to reduce thrombo-emboli. Other agents may also be used to decrease the workload of the heart (B blockers), and improve filling of the heart (Ca-channel blockers).
