Prestigious Award for the VPHMgt Program


The VPHMgt program was the recipient of a prestigious national award for University teaching in 2006.

The Carrick Institute is a government-established body that provides a national focus for the enhancement of learning and teaching in Australian higher education. The Institute uses awards to recognise excellence as a key mechanism for encouraging quality in learning and teaching amongst all Higher Education providers in Australia.

In the 2006 round of Carrick Australian awards for University Teaching, the VPHMgt program team was awarded a citation for outstanding contributions to student learning for "the development of an innovative, holistic curriculum and learning environment for postgraduate education in veterinary public health.

VPHMgt was presented with the award on 8th August 2006. Signed by the current Minister for Education, the Carrick award was presented by Sir John Carrick, who was a former Commonwealth Minister for Education and recipient of a Centenary Medal for outstanding leadership and service to the Australian community, especially through education.
