Our facilitator honoured in the Queen's Birthday 2013 Honours
Dr Kevin Doyle, one of our program’s facilitators, was recognised in the recent Queen's Birthday 2013 Honours List. He has received the award of Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for his significant service to veterinary science and to animal health. Our heartiest congratulations Kevin for such a well-deserved achievement!
Our student’s research about infection control practices of Australian veterinarians creates headlines
One of our students, Dr Karen Dowd, published an article in Preventive Veterinary Medicine journal based on her dissertation. She reported the results of a study conducted to determine vets' perception of risk of contracting a disease from the animals they treat, the measures they use to protect themselves and the factors that influence their adoption of those measures.
Our students create a game to control rabies
Four of our students created a board game to educate children about rabies, a disease that kills over 55,000 people each year in Asia and Africa. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has expressed interest in mass production and distribution of the game.
