Online Mendelian Inheritance in Animals (OMIA)

Online Mendelian Inheritance in Animals (OMIA) is a database of genes, inherited disorders and traits in more than 135 animal species (other than human and mouse) authored by Professor Frank Nicholas of the University of Sydney, Australia.

The database contains textual information and references, as well as links to relevant PubMed and Gene records at the NCBI.

For dogs, OMIA presents up-to-date information on all disorders that have been documented to date (approximately 440), including around 130 that are due to a single mutation, approximately 70 of which have been identified at the DNA level.
