Dr Rob Christley

Dr Rob Christley, Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology, Head of Epidemiology & Public Health, School of Veterinary Science, the University of Liverpool, UK was a visiting scholar with the Faculty for several weeks in April/May 2010. Rob is famous in the animal health community for his pioneering research in the field of social network analysis. Born and educated in Sydney, Australia, Rob graduated in Veterinary Science, completing a Diploma and Masters in Clinical Studies before going on to a PhD investigating the epidemiology of lower respiratory tract disease in racehorses. Rob has wide interests in the determinants of health and disease. He is particularly interested in the application of network analysis to the evaluation of population behaviour, including inter-group (farm) contacts and social behaviour within animal groups, and its role in transmission of infectious diseases.
