Diana Jaramillo - Columbia

Diana Jaramillo joined the Faculty in March for three months supported by a Council of Australian Latin America Relations scholarship. Diana undertook training in virology and research on diagnosis of EHN virus for 10 weeks with Richard Whittington, Joy Becker and Alison Tweedie.

Diana has taken these new skills home to Columbia where there is need for more people with skills in microbiological and molecular diagnostic techniques. Accurate diagnosis of fish diseases and identification of fish pathogens will open new gates to understand and improve Colombian fish production.
