Dr Chris Jewell - Warwick University, United Kingdom

Dr Chris Jewell, a post doctoral fellow from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Warwick University in the UK, spent a week with the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Camden. Chris is a statistician and veterinary epidemiologist and uses statistical methods to analyse animal disease data and make real-time risk predictions for in-progress epidemics.

He is particularly interested in using Bayesian techniques to analyse epidemic data. The aim of his Sydney visit was to foster links between Warwick University and the University of Sydney, which resulted in two new collaborations with Professor Michael Ward and Dr Navneet Dhand.
