Welcome to SOLE

Faculty Orientation Activities for Undergraduate Students

Orientation and leadership activities are an integral part of the Faculty’s programs and commence during orientation. We have arranged an interesting and informative program for you. The activities are planned to introduce you to the Faculty and University, and give you fun opportunities to meet the other members of your year. They include:

  • Small and large group activities that will introduce you to your peers, senior students and staff
  • A tour of the Camden campus to help you find your way around
  • Short presentations about Faculty and University support services
  • Presentations by senior students and faculty supporters

During the orientation program you will be familiarised with both the Camden campus including teaching and other facilities, be introduced to key staff, have the opportunity to join our active Student Societies, and commence or continue your journey towards professional and personal leadership. You will also have the opportunity to socialise and start to build the friendships that will be important during your student and professional careers. Staff and senior students are available throughout the program to answer questions about the curriculum.

Please note: full catering (morning tea and lunch) will be provided for students who RSVP and pay for the program on Friday 26th February at the Camden campus.

We also recommend attending the general University of Sydney O-Week activities on the Camperdown campus. The full program of activities is available here: http://sydney.edu.au/start/orientation-2016.html

What is the best thing about SOLE?

This is what some of our past participants said:

  • Meeting people in my course before the first lectures,
getting to know them and making friends.
  • Being placed into small groups and developing friendships
with the people doing our course.
  • The interaction between students and lecturers.

So come and join us!

All members of the Faculty, staff and students alike, are welcome to take part in the fun.
If you’d like to be a small group leader for next year, please let us know via . We’d love to hear from you!
