Dr Vogelnest is a Specialist Veterinary Dermatologist who works at the Camden Teaching Hospital three days per week and the Sydney Teaching Hospital once weekly, seeing small, large and exotic animal dermatology referrals. She worked in small animal practice in Australia and the UK for 14 years before pursuing an interest in dermatology. Linda achieved Membership of Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Feline Medicine in 1997, completed a Dermatology fellowship training program based in Sydney and Melbourne from 1997-2001 and achieved Fellowship of Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Dermatology in 2003.
Linda’s roles include running a busy dermatology consulting service, teaching dermatology at both under-graduate and post-graduate levels and involvement in clinical research projects to help increase the understanding and management of skin diseases. Linda is passionate about teaching dermatology, enjoys lectures and presentations to general veterinary practitioners and has made numerous presentations at dermatology meetings in Australia and internationally. She also plays an active role in the Dermatology Chapter of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists, and has been part of the Science Week Dermatology Stream program committee for the last 3 years.

Her special dermatology interests include allergies in all species, dermatohistopathology, and skin surface cytology sampling. She has been involved in research projects involving intradermal testing in horses, and canine superficial pyoderma.

Dr Philippa Ravens

Philippa graduated with honours from the University of Sydney in 2004 and worked in small animal general practice in Sydney for five years. She accepted a veterinary dermatology residency in August of 2008 at the University of Sydney Veterinary Teaching Hospitals and sees both small and large animals at the Camperdown and Camden clinics.

Philippa completed a Masters in Veterinary Clinical Studies; passed membership examinations in Small Animal Medicine with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in 2011 and is planning to undertake the Fellowship examinations in Veterinary Dermatology in 2013.


Kathy Turner

Kathy has worked full time at the teaching hospital since 2007, working 2 days a week as a dermatology nurse and 3 days per week as a Laboratory Technician.
In dermatology Kathy performs intradermal skin testing of patients, manages the preparation and distribution of allergy vaccines, demonstrates administration of allergy vaccines, discusses patient progress on phone calls, and assists in a variety of other tasks to help the dermatology service work efficiently.
Outside of work Kathy has a horse addiction in particular pony dressage and showing, and owns a menagerie of animals including dogs, cats, horses and chooks.
