Appointments & Payment for Veterinary Services
Making an Appointment
To make an appointment for your pet please call the clinic during business hours. Referring veterinarians are welcome to call the clinic to discuss cases with our clinicians. To refer a case please see Referring a Case.
Emergency cases will be seen immediately. The scheduled length of appointments allows for the fact that final year interns participate in consultations.
Unfortunately, the UVTHS cannot offer veterinary advice or provide answers to specific medical questions about animals that are not under our care. Telephone advice is available for referring veterinarians. Members of the public with animal health related concerns are encouraged to contact their local veterinarian or the UVTHS for a professional consultation.
Payment for Veterinary Services
The University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Sydney receives no subsidy for its veterinary services. The charges at the UVTHS are comparable to those of private veterinary practices and are kept to the minimum level possible that is consistent with the highest quality of care for the animals being treated.
Our policy is payment by cash, credit card (Mastercard or Visa), AMEX or EFTPOS at the time the animal is discharged from hospital. A 50% deposit of the estimated treatment cost is required for all admissions into hospital prior to any diagnostic investigations and treatment.
