Places of interest

The University of Sydney is full of people and places of interest.
Our campuses house researchers, staff and students who pursue cutting-edge breakthroughs across a range of disciplines, with global influence. You can find out more about their work on the Our people webpage, through profiles in Sydney Alumni Magazine, and on our news website.
The central campus, set on landscaped grounds overlooking Sydney’s business centre, contains state-of-the-art teaching, research and student support facilities that complement the original 1850s heritage buildings.
Places you may enjoy visiting include:
- The Great Hall, where our new students are welcomed each year.
- The Carillon, which is played every Tuesday between 1 and 2pm, and also on special occasions like graduation.
- The Quadrangle (pictured above)
- The Law School
- Sydney College of the Arts
- Sydney Conservatorium of Music, located next to the Botanic Gardens, just off Macquarie St.
